Thomas Bassey is a security guard by day with a secret life, by night he puts on his lycra and becomes Shirley Bassey in the Merthyr Tydfil Celtic Wrestling scene. The antics of Welsh wrestling promoter Bassey and his lycra-clad warriors raise the spirits of the kids in Merthyr Tydfil. When a contestant suffers a serious spinal injury Bassey is forced to resign. The 40-year-old bouncer struggles to let go of his “local hero” identity as he relinquishes his power in the ring.
